After the 12-day Filipino Sign Language session participated by 8 faculty and staff of LSGH-ANHS, an expectation, requested, from the participants turned into a group and individual projects. As the Batch 1 think of how we can impart new found insights on the training, the group realized that the community of ANHS both hearing and deaf should undergo an orientation about the Mainstreamed System for the Deaf. It is aimed in providing a proper orientation to Deafness and Hearing culture and to raise awareness of the ANHS community on its diverse culture. This orientation session hopes to change social negative attitudes about deafness, deaf and hearing people which will result in a smooth classroom operations, provision of more mainstreamed activities and a genuine understanding of each others culture in the ANHS.

Welcome to the Program for Deaf Learners blog!!!
Welcome everybody! It’s great to be able to get this blog up and running. There is so much to write about and we need you to give us suggestions to make it fun for all who will view this blog, hoping that we won’t do it all . We would like to briefly mention that we are still accepting new Deaf high school students and sign language interpreters (SLI) for school year 2011-2012. We will be giving you a schedule about them in the near future. We also want to write about our Deaf program here at school.
Stay tuned because we will be posting articles and tips on communicating and/or teaching Deaf students. We will also post pictures of our activities that promote Deaf awareness.
We want to start this new school year with a full schedule of programs and events. Though for this month classes just ended and students and teachers alike will be having a jolly time vacationing to energize for the next school year!
Please feel free to post comments or ask questions, we would love to hear from you.
