ANHS Celebrates Deaf Week


   La Salle Green Hills celebrated the 8th ANHS Deaf Week last November 8-11 with several events/activities designed to increase awareness of the diverse students who attend the Adult Night High School.

   The ANHS Deaf Week is a week-long celebration of Deaf individuals with the ANHS community. It is an opportunity for the Deaf to celebrate their community, language, culture and history; make the LSGH community aware and recognize their achievements; it is also an opportunity for other organizations involved with, or wishing to be involved with the Deaf community to showcase their talents and/or outputs; build / maintain relationships with Deaf people and be recognized for giving Deaf people an acceptance in school.






October 17, Friday:
   Soft launching; 
   Announcements of major contests for students to prepare and participate before the semestral break.

November 8-11:
   Viewing of the exhibits.

November 8, Tuesday:
   Formal Launching and Announcements of the week long activities; 
   Yoyo skill presentation by Jonathan S. and Know-Your-Sign contest for Hearing students; 

   Submission of Deaf Poetry Video entries by Deaf student-poets.

 November 9, Wednesday:
   Alternative Class Program on Raising a Deaf Child attended by all students with Rev. Christine S. Fabian (with her sister Grace) as our resource speaker; 

   Judging of the Deaf Poetry Video entries with Mr. Ferdinand R. Vizmanos and Miss Diana Pria B. Bañas; 

   Submission of Signed Music Video entries by Hearing students.

November 14, Monday:
    Signed Community Mass presided by Fr. Luke Moortgat
